When Amey Highways approached Brentwood Communications to supply communications for their part in the event, the sales team were made aware that it was crucial that the radios covered a large area and provided the best sound quality to stand the test of time for the event.

How Brentwood Could Help

Amey Highways have worked with Brentwood for many years, and have previously hired digital radios, however baring in mind the central location and the large area that needed covering, they needed something a bit different. The system was to be used as Amey cleaned up after the procession, as it moved across London. A free of charge site visit was arrange in order to find the best solution, and it was decided that Lugra PTT cellular devices would be provided. This option gives all the benefits of two way radio; durability, audio quality and long battery life, however the device operates over a cellular network, giving the coverage required across London.

After their site visit, Amey decided it would be best for all users to operate across one channel. The Lugra PTT supports features such as individual and group calling, and GPS tracking. The devices were required for just 24 hours, but were delivered a week beforehand to allow the users to get to grips with the radios and their capabilities. This kind of flexibility allows our customers to get the best from their equipment.
