Delivering First Aid to Events Across Essex

Ever wondered what happens if you attend a public event and suffer some kind of accident or are taken ill? The chances are you will be looked after in the first instance by wonderful people like the Essex Community First Aid Volunteers. And Brentwood Radios is extremely proud to announce that we are now aiding them in their important work by supplying them with two way radios.

Essex Community First Aid Volunteers travel to events around the county and beyond providing on-the-spot first aid support. If someone is taken ill or suffers an injury, a speedy response can make all the difference, and not-for-profit first aid volunteer groups often provide an essential front-line service. The ECFAV also run first aid training courses, helping to spread skills and knowledge that quite literally save lives, and they are always on the lookout for new volunteers.

The group approached us about purchasing a two way radio system which they would be able to take with them to all the events they attended. They wanted a means of allowing first aiders to alert each other in emergencies or when an extra pair of hands were needed to further speed up the assistance they could provide.

All clear

We recommended the Motorola DP1400 digital two way radio, one of the most reliable and best performing standard class two way radios currently available on the market. A simple-to-use handset which takes no time at all getting to grips with, the DP1400 offers a number of quality features such as noise cancellation and intelligent audio, ensuring clear communication even when there is plenty of background noise at busy events.

The DP1400 also comes with an extremely useful hands-free VOX feature which means you can carry on a conversation without pressing the push-to-talk button – perfect for when a volunteer is busy tending to a patient.

One of the advantages of digital two way radios is that they provide a wider signal range than analogue, meaning the ECFAV could be confident they would get suitable coverage at all the different events they attend. We supplied the handsets with 2100mAh batteries instead of the standard 1600mAh to provide longer life for all-day events, and the radios were supplied on a Simple UK license, which means they can be used in any number of different locations.

Ian Davey of the ECFAV was kind enough to leave us this great review on Trust Pilot:

“This is an excellent company to do business with. We are a charity and we were advised on the correct radios required for our circumstance. Phones are answered quickly and all questions answered. Delivery was also excellent, with demo radios given to us to try out.”
