This year, events organisers Events 360 were tasked with managing the security and safety of the crowd. PATROLLING IN NOISY ENVIRONMENTS
Anyone who’s been to the Emirates Stadium understands just how large the venue is. With up to 61,000 people in one place, the noise levels from the match, the PA and the crowd are truly awesome, calling for some professional audio solutions.
Brentwood Communications provided Motorola DP2400 two way radios for the security staff at the event. The DP2400 boasts outstanding audio clarity, a 12-hour battery life, plus a 3km range. With 16 channels, the team could communicate without interference.
Six members of the team had a heavy duty headset for their DP400 two way radio, featuring an integrated boom mic with noise cancellation. This allowed them to speak without holding the radio up to their mouth using the inline push-to-talk button, and it filtered out crowd noise for more effective communication.
The seventh radio was fitted with a covert earpiece. This earpiece is partially transparent and sits within the ear, with a discreet cable passing behind the ear to the clip below. This was ideal for use outside the main stadium, where noise reduction was less of an issue.
