Right at the heart of the Paddington Central campus, 2 Kingdom Street provides premium office space over 12 storeys. Home to a number of leading blue chip tech and professional services corporations, the modern, spacious accommodation is certified ‘excellent’ according to the BREEAM sustainability criteria. The building was constructed as part of Phase 2 of the Paddington Central project, a mixed use development combining residential, commercial, healthcare and leisure destinations sandwiched between Paddington Station and the Westway.
To support operations, the building’s facilities contractors hired a fleet of Motorola DP2400 two way radios from Brentwood, along with a DR3000 repeater unit. The DP2400 is a high quality general purpose digital handset ideal for use by security, maintenance and cleaning teams. With the classic two way radio design and intuitive push-to-talk functionality, the DP2400 is simple to use yet, with the benefits of digitally enhanced audio and increased output power, absolutely reliable in all circumstances.
Along with the repeater unit, we installed a distributed antenna system to ensure full coverage throughout the building. Each handset was also programmed with emergency calling and Lone Worker remote monitoring features, to support health and safety management. By taking the equipment on a hire basis, the building’s operators also enjoyed the benefit of onsite support from our expert technicians, plus rapid repair and replacement in the event of a breakdown.
