A striking and futuristic glass prism at the junction with Victoria Street, 62 Buckingham Gate is an expansive mixed use development comprising 16,000 sq ft of retail premises and more than 250,000 sq ft of office space over 13 storeys. A standout project in the redevelopment of the Victoria Quarter, high profile tenants include Rolls Royce, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Chime Communications. The building also contains a five-screen theatre operated by Curzon Cinemas.
Brentwood was contracted to supply an up-to-date two way radio system befitting the high quality modern accommodation on offer at 62 Buckingham Gate. The two handsets we provided, the DP2400 and SL4000, are both part of Motorola’s groundbreaking MOTOTRBO digital range, which has set new standards in two way radio audio quality, choice of features and performance. To support security, health and safety and general works coordination, all handsets were programmed with private calling, emergency button and Lone Worker remote monitoring.
The SL4000, an ultra compact model with a screen and full keypad, also provides dispatch and work order ticket functions for team supervisors, as well as options for telephone system integration, text messaging and email.
Knowing that getting reliable signal in all parts of such a big building was a key concern of the operators, we installed Motorola DR3000 repeater units along with a distributed antenna system, and linked everything through a DM4600 desk radio to provide a central control console.
