Situated right on top of the revamped Victoria Underground station and opposite the mainline Victoria Station, the Nova complex is one of the most exciting developments to happen in London in recent years. Comprising two main buildings, Nova North and Nova South, plus a food retail destination, Nova Place and the Victoria Palace Theatre, the Nova development has put stunning contemporary architecture right at the heart of the multi-billion pound Victoria Quarter regeneration.
Brentwood was originally approached to see if we could improve two way radio coverage in the giant Nova South structure. At close to 300,000 sq ft, maintenance and security operatives working across the mixed use office and retail building were finding it difficult to get a reliable signal in all parts.
Working to this brief, we initially recommended changing the repeater system. Repeaters separate out transmit and receive signals from two way radio communications, making the distribution more efficient. The improved repeater system had the desired effect, boosting coverage throughout the building. Following this success, we were also asked for advice on upgrading handsets. We sold a fleet of Motorola DP4400e digital two way radios, part of Motorola’s latest E-range boasting the company’s best ever audio technology and a range enhanced features.
