If ever there was an activity that required reliable and safe communication, this is surely it! Speedway riders participate in races using 500cc engine single-geared motorbikes that have no brakes! Four riders keep turning left over four laps of an oval track and each race is over in less than a minute.
OH, AND THEY ALSO DESCRIBE IT AS “EASY!”…
So, it’s just as well for all concerned that BSI Speedway hires two way digital radio equipment from Brentwood Communications throughout the year, every year. Our radios are used to manage communications between race organisers, security staff and the riders at the worldwide racing events they attend throughout the season.
We supply BSI Speedway with Motorola DP2400 digital radios. This radio model is exceptionally durable, with an additional battery life of 40 per cent. It has intelligent audio that adjusts the radio volume automatically to compensate for background noise, making it particularly suitable for an ear-splitting racetrack.
To help with the noise, they have also been kitted out with Motorola heavy-duty headsets and single-sided heavy-duty headsets, padded for comfort, to provide noise cancelling, hands-free communication. We have also supplied acoustic tube earpieces for where the communication needs to be more discreet.
For the first weekend in July, BSI Speedway riders were back in the UK to participate at the 2015 Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. As they were on home turf, Brentwood was able to supply an additional 10 x DP2400 handsets, plus accessories for the occasion.
