Radio Hire For the Thingamagig Festival in Chelmsford

Big Stinky Dog have hired some of our radios for its Thingamagig charity music event this weekend. Bands from the Chelmsford area will play the all-day event to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

There are two separate stages at the Thingamagig festival, and the team at Big Stinky Dog will be working hard to keep everything running to schedule.

As part of the preparation for the event, the team got in touch with Brentwood Communications to hire some two way radios.

HIGH PERFORMANCE

At music events, organisers need to keep track of dozens of musicians, each with their own equipment to set up. When timing is tight, organisers must communicate efficiently and keep changeover times to a minimum.

The Motorola CP040 radios we supplied are designed to be as simple as possible, so there’s no need to be trained, or remember complicated functions. Users can use the simple controls, press the two programmable buttons to access commonly used functions, and talk one to one person, or several in a group.

The radio is IP54 rated, so it can be used outdoors in the rain, and it will survive exposure to dirty environments. Its low power mode is ideal for small venues, and we’re confident that the team will be able to get 19 hours’ battery life on one charge.

The festival organisers also hired two wire earpieces for their Motorola CP040s, which will allow them to discreetly listen in to their radio without the crowd listening in too!

If you’re in the mood for some live music this Saturday, head to
The Ship on Stock Road in Chelmsford.  The Thingamagig event takes place all day on the 19th, with 16 bands playing over the course of the day.

Big Stinky Dog will be running both of its stages from the same venue, with the first band taking to the stage at 1pm, and there will be a barbeque, face painting and a hog roast.

Tickets cost £10 on the door or £8 in advance, and under-15s go free. The venue is on the number 100 bus route, and there will also be a shuttle bus running from near the train station.
