More information

Targeted at users in the constructionsecuritymanufacturing and logistics sectors, the Hytera PD405 handheld digital two-way radio offers a simple communication solution for everyday workplace use.  Sleek and light with straightforward controls,  the PD405 delivers high quality performance and excellent flexibility.

The Hytera PD405 is one of the few two way radio models that can operate in both analogue and digital modes simultaneously. Many two way radio models are billed as ‘hybrid’ as they can be programmed to work as either analogue or digital radios. But with the PD405, an advanced signalling feature allows the radio to automatically detect the type of signals being used by other radios and automatically switch between analogue and digital as required.

This makes the Hytera PD405 the ideal for completing a smooth migration from analogue to digital in your radio fleet. Upgrading from older analogue models to new digital two way radios can be expensive, but the Hytera PD405 lets you make the step up gradually. You can start out with just one or two introduced to an analogue fleet. As you add more and more, you get the benefits of digital two way radio performance between the PD405s, while they can still talk seamlessly to the older analogue models.

The PD405 has a sleek, slimline design which sits comfortably in the palm of your hand and can be carried around all day without getting in the way. Its controls are simple and user-friendly – a push-to-talk (PTT) button, two programmable buttons, channel select and volume control – meaning it is an ideal choice for the novice two way radio user as well as for more experienced professionals. Despite its compact size, the PD405 is also robust and reliable.

The PD405 also proves its versatility with a flexible range of communications options. As well as standard whole network ‘All Call’ mode, it offers private and group calling, ensuring seamless communication as colleagues can target messages and discussions more efficiently. The Direct Mode TDMA radio system allows two conversations to take place simultaneously on the same digital voice slot, meaning you can double channel capacity and therefore boost the number of calls that can be made on the network at once,

For added convenience when operatives are really busy, there is the option to switch to VOX – a voice activation mode which means calls will transmit just by talking, without having to press the PTT button. You can also pre-programme text messages into the handset and send them using one of the additional function buttons.

Hytera PD405 Radio Ratings and User Environment

Performance of Hytera PD405 Digital Radio

Like the rest of the PD4 series, the Hytera PD405 digital two way radio makes full use of DMR technology to deliver excellent audio quality that ensures voice cuts through even in noisy environments. It offers 16 hours battery life on a single charge.

Safety Features Hytera PD405 Two Way Radio

Hytera’s PD4 series radios come with a pre-programmed emergency mode. Sending a communication in this mode will raise an alarm with top priority to a base station or to other radios, overriding any other communications and identifying the ID of the person issuing the alarm.

All Hytera radios come with standard 24 month warranty.

Able to operate on both VHF and UHF frequencies, you will need an Ofcom licence to access both. Please contact us to find out more about licensed radio from Hytera and other manufacturers. Our experts will ensure you get the exact two-way radio solutions for your needs.
