The TE580PD is a dual mode digital mobile radio (DMR) and push to talk-over-cellular (PoC) device. Combining the best of two way radio technology with universal mobile coverage in a single handset, the TE580PD supports seamless switching between broadband and narrowband VHF and UHF networks for a truly agile communications experience.

Hybrid DMR-PoC functionality offers a number of benefits. Fitted with a Lugra SIM, the TE580PD connects to global 3G and 4G LTE networks, supporting full multimedia communication as you’d get with any other mobile-ready device, and overcoming the geographic limitations of two way radio.

However, even mobile signal is not absolutely reliable, and for local communications over a short distance, radio frequencies can be more stable – especially for mission-critical voice. With two communication modes, the TE580PD therefore has a failover option should one type of network not be available. What is more, it switches automatically between one and the other depending on what is available.

All of this is made available via a beautifully designed user-friendly handset that combines the best of two-way radio simplicity and a cutting-edge touchscreen interface. Featuring a prominent push-to-talk (PTT) button and stripped-back controls, the TE580PD is designed for ease of use on the move, with one-touch functionality for instant voice communication.

But like any Android smartphone, the 3.1″ 800*480dpi WVGA touchscreen gives you access to a whole range of other features, with the option to download apps to suit your needs. The TE580PD also features rear 8MP and 2MP cameras, allowing you to stream or record video, as well as capture and send still images.

One of the stand-out things about the TE580PD is how much it fits into a small package. At just 206g in weight and with dimensions of 119.56×1.5×23.5mm, the TE580PD is ergonomically designed for maximum portability, and can easily be operated in one hand.

Despite its compact size, the TE580PD is built for long-term durable performance. It is certified IP67 waterproof, which means it can survive being fully submerged in water up to a metre deep for half an hour.
