More information
The Kenwood NX-3320E2 is a compact display two way radio offering multi-mode functionality and high spec performance.
Part of Kenwood’s Nexedge range, the NX-3320E2 can operate in both digital and analogue modes and also supports Bluetooth and GPS data connections. A feature-rich next generation model, it seamlessly integrates voice, text and data communications while offering high levels of scalability and options to operate across multiple sites.
The NX-3320E2 is a standard keypad model with a four-line screen and D-pad for scrolling through menus. It features an LED indicator to display functions and modes in current use, push-to-talk and programmable side buttons, and volume control and channel selector.
Ideal for use in industry or construction, the NX-3320E2 is certified according to MIL-STD-810 US military standards C/D/E/F/G for vibration and shock resistance, meaning it is sturdy enough to withstand falls and knocks in most environments. It is also compliant with IP54, IP55 and IP67 governing water and dust resistance.
The NX-3320E2 can be deployed with confidence around heavy machinery and other sources of high volume background noise, as Kenwood’s Active Noise Reduction (ANR) digitally cleans the signal to provide the highest quality audio possible.
The handsets come with safety features including an Emergency Button call override and a built-in motion sensor for triggering Man Down alerts in the event of a fall. For secure communications, they include AES and DES encryption software..
The NX-3320E2 uses the UHF bandwidth which is best suited to built-up environments and deployment indoors. It can operate on three different voice transmission protocols – the DMR digital standard, FM analogue, and Kenwood’s own digital protocol, NXDN.
The dual digital and analogue functionality makes the NX-3320E2 an ideal hybrid option during a digital upgrade of your two way radio fleet. Legacy analogue models can still be used seamlessly alongside digital handsets, with the NX-3320E2 capable of connecting to both simultaneously.
The support for both DMR and NXDN digital protocols creates a flexible range of options for expanding channel capacity to create larger networks. DMR allows users to effectively double the normal 260 channel capacity via dual-slot direct mode, using a single frequency to create two talk paths. DMR also supports site roaming for easy use across multiple locations.
The NXDN protocol, meanwhile, provides Type C and Gen2 trunking options which can increase the number of available channels to 1000.
