Big on value, big on reliability – that’s the Lugra way. The LT5100LF is a perfect example of those brand values, delivering solid all round two way radio performance at a price that is hard to beat.
Part of Lugra’s latest LT5000 series, the LT5100LF is a non-display licence-free model. Licence-free two way radio is the most affordable solution available, because you don’t have to buy a permit from Ofcom to access the airwaves. Instead, LF radios make use of free-to-air public spectrum in the 446MHz band.
The LT5100LF is therefore a perfect entry-level two way radio both for business communications and general purpose leisure use. It is designed for simplicity and ease of use. The straightforward control set-up, with just the traditional push-to-talk and function buttons, volume control and channel scan, means even novice two way radio users can quickly get to grips with working it straight out of the box.
Weighing just 208g with compact chassis dimensions of 127 x 57 x 32mm, it is highly portable and small enough to operate with just one hand. For added convenience, it comes with VOX voice activation mode, so it can even be used hands free in situations where you are busy with other things. It features 256 channels and allows group and private one-to-one calling.
The LT5100LF boasts impressive build quality and has an IP54 rating for dust and splash protection, which makes it suitable for use outdoors as well as in a range of commercial and light industrial settings. It can also be programmed to work on either VHF or UHF frequencies, which again provides extra flexibility for use in wide open spaces outdoors or in more confined interiors.
It also supports workplace health and safety with three special alert functions. The Emergency Alarm means that a network-wide alert can be triggered with the touch of a button, saving the need to make a call and speeding up response times.
Man Down can detect if a user has fallen via special positional and motion trackers built into the handset, automatically triggering an alert to all users. The Lone Worker function will issue an alarm if the user does not check in with colleagues at fixed intervals.
Because the LT5100LF shares publicly accessible frequencies, some organisations may have concerns over data security if potentially sensitive information needs to be communicated. However, Lugra has built encryption technology into the system to provide the necessary privacy protections.
