Calling Time on Poor Signal for Historic London Brewery

Sadly, that success didn’t last. By 1989 it looked as though time had been called on one of the most famous names in UK beer, when the original Truman’s Brewery near Brick Lane was closed.

But in 2013, new owners acquired the rights to the name and a brand new Truman’s Brewery opened in Hackney Wick. Capitalising on the microbrewery trend, the new venture also also included a tap room bar on site at the brewery, which has established itself as a popular venue in an up-and-coming corner of the capital.

This is where Brentwood Communications enters the story. The company was making use of a cheap set of two way radios they’d bought on Amazon to help front of house and serving staff communicate in the bar. But these licence-free radios were creating a lot of interference, making it difficult for staff to hear each other at the busiest times – which was precisely when they needed the two way way radios most.

Despite being part of Motorola’s flagship MOTOTRBO digital series, the DP1400 has a classic control set up and is very straightforward to use. But we didn’t expect Truman’s to take us at our word on that – we offered a trial for the handsets and accompanying ear pieces to make sure everyone was happy before they committed to the purchase.
