Are you technically minded with a keen eye for detail? Interested in communications technology and looking to kick-start your career in the radio industry? We’re looking for a Junior Two Way Radio Frequency Programmer to join our growing team!

About the Role

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for programming two-way radios from top manufacturers like Motorola, Kenwood, Icom, and Hytera, ensuring they operate seamlessly on our customers’ OFCOM radio licenses.

Working with a variety of digital and analogue radio systems, you’ll learn to configure everything from simple handhelds to more complex fleet systems using a range of manufacturer-specific software tools.

No prior experience in radio programming? We’ll provide full training and support to get you up to speed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Programming radios using manufacturer software (Motorola CPS, Hytera CPS, Kenwood KPG, Icom CS, etc.)
  • Setting up frequencies, channels, groups, and user features based on customer specs
  • Working with both analogue and digital radio technologies (DMR, NXDN, FM, etc.)
  • Ensuring compliance with OFCOM licensing
  • Testing and preparing equipment for deployment
  • Maintaining accurate records of programmed devices

What We’re Looking For:

Must-Have:

  • Confidence with Windows PCs, USB/serial cables, and software tools
  • Sharp attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • A team player with good organisational skills
  • You must live close to Wickford (10 miles max), working hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience programming two-way radios or other RF equipment
  • Knowledge of OFCOM licensing
  • A relevant technical qualification (electronics, telecoms, IT, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of radio or RF principles (or a strong willingness to learn)
