The AP515 is an analogue two way radio but benefits from a number of up-to-date technological touches that enhance its performance. With an output power of 4W when using UHF frequencies and 5W in VHF, it is designed to increase the radiation efficiency compared to traditional antennas and as a result delivers an 11% greater effective communication distance. In addition, the monopole antenna has a unique design and is not easy to break and bend.

Signal range is not the only thing the AP515 goes the extra mile with. It also boasts seriously impressive battery life. With an energy efficient low consumption design, the AP515 is fitted with a 4000mAH li-polymer battery that will keep the handset functioning for 17 hours when fully charged. It also uses a Type-C 10W USB charger for rapid and convenient charging. The radio can be fully charged in just over three hours and topped from a power bank anywhere on the move, further boosting productivity and talk time to help get your work done.

In the past, any electronic device carrying such a high capacity battery would have had a noticeable weight to it. But battery technology has evolved to be much more compact and lightweight than it was in the past. This allows the AP515 to deliver extended operational life in its most minimal form, maintaining a slimline profile at just 29.5mm in thickness and 200g in weight.

Being compact and light also adds to the AP515’s user-friendly design. The AP515 is supremely easy to learn to use, even for two way radio novices. It operates via the classic push-to-talk (PTT) button – simply press and speak to broadcast. There are 32 channels to choose from when calling, and a voice notification to tell you what channel you are on.

Another up-to-date feature that can be used to help with audibility is Bluetooth. With Bluetooth enabled, the AP515 can be paired with wireless headphones and microphone sets. As well as making it easier for users to hear voice calls loud and clear, Bluetooth headsets also provide hands-free operation on the move.
