Icom’s IC-F2000T radio is a UHF handset with a full-sized, numeric keypad. The two-way radio also has an LCD display. Its built-in encryption ensures that voices are scrambled during transmission so that unauthorised listeners cannot intercept your conversation, and it offers 128 channels for versatility in large teams’ radio communication.

The IC-F200T is equipped with a waterproof Li-ion battery, capable of 14 hours used in power-saving mode. The casing of the digital radio is also completely sealed to prevent dust and moisture from rendering it inoperable. This makes the digital radio ideal for use outdoors, and in harsh weather, with an IP67 rating confirming its resistance to solid and liquid objects. It can even cope with being submersed in shallow water for up to half an hour.

Despite its robust build quality, the designers at Icom have come up with a design that is beautifully slim. Measuring less than 25mm, and weighing 240g, it is comfortable to carry in a pocket or on a belt. The radio can be used with a waterproof speaker mic (sold separately), a headset mic and/or an internal speaker. Man-down alerts and escalating alarms complete its impressive feature set.
