LIMITED STOCK – BEING REPLACED BY MOTOROLA R2 (DIGITAL)

The Motorola DP1400 is an excellent two-way radio all-rounder. Easy to use and highly portable, this rugged handset perfectly suits the needs of a broad range of business types looking for a straightforward and cost-effective communications solution, from small and medium-sized warehouses to agricultural operations, security to light industrial use.

Available in both analogue and digital versions, the digital handset benefits from Motorola radio’s pioneering expertise at the cutting edge of two-way radio technology. For example, its noise-cancelling software filters out background noise to deliver crisp, clean audio in every environment, while automatic gain control adjusts volume as required to ensure users can hear every word.

Because of the efficiency gains offered by digital technology, this version of the Motorola DP1400 provides up to 40% longer battery life than its analogue counterpart. It also operates with a superior network range and, using the Dual Capacity Direct Mode, you can fit twice as many calls into the same bandwidth. In this way, the DP1400 radio connects your workforce efficiently and has the flexibility to grow with your business.

Switching between digital and analogue is easy and the DP1400 is perfect if you want the freedom to migrate from analogue radios to digital gradually. You can add DP1400 handsets to your existing analogue fleet one at a time until you have replaced them all, and then switch all your DP1400s over to digital. All it takes is a quick software upgrade, just like updating an app on your phone, ensuring your radio fleet has the flexibility to grow with your business.

The Motorola DP1400 features a number of useful call and messaging functions. Traditionally, two-way radios would only broadcast to the entire network at once, but private calling allows users to target messages more precisely to avoid confusion. Another feature enables a supervisor to interrupt a DP1400 user to deliver critical communication exactly when and where it’s needed, without having to wait for a channel to clear.

Although the Motorola DP1400 is a non-screen model, you can programme in and save set text messages, which can then be sent when required at the push of a button – quicker and more convenient than making a call. The DP1400 also supports so-called ‘VOX’ voice activation, which means you can operate the handset using your voice only without having to press the push-to-talk (PTT) button – perfect when you have your hands full with something.

All of these options can be added to two programmable buttons on the handset for users to access quickly and easily. As part of the MOTOTRBO family of radios, the DP1400 is compatible with Motorola’s Radio Management Suite. This allows handsets to be programmed in batches.

As a two-way radio built for use in industry, the DP1400 can help protect workers with a number of safety features. Emergency Calling ensures urgent messages always get through when required, while Lone Worker monitoring is designed to keep tabs on colleagues operating in potentially hazardous places when no one else can be around them.

All in all, the digital DP1400 is perfect for the everyday user who wants to stay connected
