The Hytera SC580 body camera is a smart multifunction device that lets you capture and stream video, images and audio on the move. Highly compact and intuitive to use, the SC580 combines convenience and simplicity with high-quality performance, including best-in-class image stabilisation and night vision capture.
As a 4G-ready device, the SC580 can stream video and audio and upload images in real time, meaning first responders and security operatives can share information about evolving situations as they unfold.
The SC580 can also record video and audio to the device simultaneously, ideal for capturing evidence for use later. All data stored on the device is secured using AES-256 encryption. There are options for 32GB and 64GB on-device storage. There’s a 2 inch screen for instant playback and review.
With dimensions of 91x55x29mm and weighing just 158g, the SC580 is a pocket-sized device that fits comfortably in the user’s hand and doesn’t get in the way when clipped to a lapel or a belt, even on a long shift. But despite its slimline design, the SC580 packs a powerful 3200mAH battery that will operate for up to 10 hours without the need to recharge.
The main front camera offers UHD video resolution of 1080 pixels, and photo resolution of 16MP. Six-axis image stabilization technology means this body camera avoids jerky, indistinct results even when video is captured on the move. An optional starlight night vision sensor means images come out crisp, full of colour and with sharp detail even in the darkness. Alternatively, there is an infrared capture option for use at night.
Designed for use in fast-paced and challenging environments, the SC580 is IP68 rated for water resistance, so there are no issues using it outdoors in wet weather. It features a large, prominent video recording key which makes it easy to activate the camera and start recording or streaming (or both) at the touch of the button. Another option is to use this as a push-to-talk (PTT) button, which allows the SC580 to operate like a mobile radio.
And even before the record button is pressed, the pre-event recording feature means the body cam automatically captures video and audio up to 120 seconds before manual activation, ensuring crucial events are captured in their entirety from start to finish.
