The IC-F3400DS is a high performance VHF model in Icom‘s latest generation of IDAS digital two-way radios. It combines quality, performance and a comprehensive range of features with user-friendly control via a full-colour screen and half keypad.

Full-Colour LCD Display with Night Mode

The high-resolution colour LCD display maintains excellent visibility in both natural and indoor lighting thanks to its trans-reflective design, while a night mode LCD setting allows for comfortable viewing even in low lighting conditions.

Lightweight and Compact Design

Weighing just 170 grams, this compact handheld radio is the result of Icom’s new engineering techniques including the use of a flat sheet keypad and a custom SoC (system-on-a-chip) manufacture. Efficient power consumption means that the unit also takes advantage of a thinner battery pack.

Rugged IP68 Waterproof and Dust-Tight Protection

But small size is no barrier to resilience. The IC-F3400DS can handle rough conditions thanks to an IP68 dust-tight and waterproof protection rating. The exterior is water resistant enough that it can be placed in shallow water for up to an hour and still function. Added protection is provided by the AquaQuake draining function which dispels water by emitting a vibrating buzz sound.

Optimised VHF Performance for Indoor Environments

As a VHF radio, the IC-3400DS operates best for indoor environments such as large offices or factories, since the signal is capable of travelling through floors, walls, and other obstructions. Active noise cancellation further helps to keep audio clear even in loud environments, while an audio equalizer allows you to tailor the audio tone to suit speech characteristics

Advanced Encryption and Security Features

For police, guards and other roles where safety and security is of utmost importance, the IC-F3400DS has plenty of key features. It comes with basic 4-key DES encryption as standard, or it can be used with the optional UT-134 encryption unit upgradable to 256-bit AES encryption for advanced digital communication security. A stun/ revive/ kill feature can help lock down the radio remotely in case it is lost or stolen, and service can be easily restored once found.

Digital Voice Recording and Playback

This model also supports digital voice recording for incoming and outgoing communications, plus playback. With a 32 GB microSD card, a maximum of 500 hours can be recorded.

Emergency and Lone Worker Safety Functions

Other safety features include an emergency button and five additional emergency-related functions (man down, motion detection, stationary detection, lone worker and power OFF).

Integrated GPS Tracking and Location Alerts

The built-in GPS receiver logs user position data at regular intervals and can be saved to a microSD card. The radios can show direction and distance to another radio or specified point and can notify you with a beep sound if the target is in the specified range.

Bluetooth Connectivity and Wireless Operation

Bluetooth provides remote operation and hands-free communication when paired with a third-party headset and earpieces, and allows for wireless transfer of data or files.

Over-the-Air Programming and USB Connectivity

Over-the-Air-Programming function allows remote change of programming data over the radio channel and eliminates the need to program handsets individually. Alternatively, radios can be connected to a PC through a USB port for programming and accessing the installed microSD card in mass storage mode.
