Monitoring the safety of individuals that work in hazardous conditions is of prime concern to…
As well as having the need to achieve strict deadlines, construction companies are required to create a working environment that meets current health and safety regulations. To improve the security and efficiency of their operation, they call on us to solve their radio communication problems: poor coverage; poor reliability; and shortcomings during emergencies.
By hiring your radio equipment from Brentwood, your managers and workers can liaise and collaborate at the touch of a button – and at reduced cost. We offer a fast and efficient service, supplying the latest digital radios from the most reputable manufacturers, across every continent of the world.
The high-performance radios we provide are easy to use and hardworking. Our portable, digital radios include the following features: perfect coverage; clarity of sound; noise-cancellation; intelligent audio; increased calling capacity; private calling; plus emergency options. As well as being reliable, robust, and weatherproof – these dependable radios can operate for long shifts without the need to recharge the battery.
We’re willing to provide hands-on site support. This means we can supply a qualified member of staff (or a whole team of engineers), anywhere in the world, at short notice. Their aim is to help you achieve the most from your hired radio equipment. For instance, they can show you how to work your radios correctly, rectify any issues, and provide as much training as necessary. They can also advise you on how to log radios in and out (using labels and record sheets) in a systematic way. And, if a technical problem occurs, they can organise repairs and replacements – quickly and effectively. This includes providing a continual supply of fully charged batteries. Also, we can liaise with the relevant licensing authorities (in any country), so you can obtain the frequencies and licences that prevent radio interference.
For large sites requiring optimised channel capability, we install ‘Capacity Plus’. This is an intelligent ‘trunking’ solution that links up to 1200 radio users to voice and data, without the need to add new frequencies. It also saves radio users the time and hassle searching for a free channel every time they
We carry out free on-site trials and tests to ensure you receive razor-sharp reception throughout your site. Where back-to-back coverage is not feasible, we use Motorola DR3000 repeaters to boost the transmission. Even when a worker is operating next to rumbling machinery, their radio’s loud and clear sound, and intelligent audio, ensure they do not miss incoming calls. What’s more, the range of sophisticated earpieces we supply can make radio messages even clearer in noisy areas.
If a crane operator has difficulty hearing messages due to stray traffic from miles around. We make sure their radio only picks up the desired signals by employing a strategically placed antenna. What’s more, our engineers can install a goose microphone, along with an accessible PTT button or foot pedal, for hands-free operation.
The two way radios we pick for you are sturdy, resilient and water-resistant. This means they can carry on working even when they are wet and filthy. For instance, our radios have been dropped and known to survive after a truck has run over them! (If one of your radios stops working, and you’re hiring from us – we’ll replace it immediately.) But more than that, the batteries in digital radios last 40 percent longer between charges compared to analogue. Meaning they can continue to power your radios throughout hard, gruelling shifts.
Our radios’ advanced safety features allow site workers to feel more secure anywhere on-site. In an emergency, any member of staff using digital radios can call for help by operating their Emergency button. These radios also have the ability to monitor the safety status of vulnerable and solitary workers. For example, the ‘Man Down’ and ‘Lone Worker’ facilities will send an alarm to the Control Room when an employee is injured or in danger. No response from there will automatically trigger the ‘Alert System’ solution, which is configured
to send an SMS text message to up to 5 mobile phones.
There may be a time when the only way to protect someone in mortal danger is to stop all machinery in its tracks. Our ‘Emergency Stop’ solution alerts crane operators and truck drivers when they’ve failed to see someone in the danger area. To initiate this facility, we install a radio unit (with a large ‘Stop’ button) in the Control Room. The controllers can then alert both crane operators and drivers of the danger, by means of a warning light and audible alarm fitted in their cabs.
GPS-enabled radios allow members of the Control Room to track the position of radio users on a real-time display. When used in association with the ‘Man Down’ facility, it allows controllers to pinpoint stricken colleagues and to guide the rescuers.
Our digital radios are powerful and strong, easy to operate, rich in features, and reasonably priced. The cutting-edge technology they use enables your people to work more efficiently, and respond to any situation more quickly. This multiplies the all-round effectiveness of your operation, and enhances the well-being of your workforce as employees feel safer and secure.
