Tabor Science College based in Braintree, Essex needed a bespoke radio system that could communicate across its buildings and grounds.
The two way radios would have to operate reliably in a vibrant, fast-paced environment (with health and safety in mind). It was crucial staff could instantly call for assistance, and send preset texts – ensuring urgent messages reached their target.
Apart from academic pursuits, the college organised many extra-curricular activities – including sport. Because many of these took part outdoors (and in all weathers), they required the radios to be resilient and water resistant. Management also wanted private conversations to be secure, so others could not pick up the transmissions
